Why Buy From Twisted Roots?
All Soaps are handmade, packaged, and inspected by Dr. G using the ancient cold process technique.
We pride ourselves on using the most natural, organic and sustainably sourced ingredients that DO NOT include chemical detergents, synthetic lathering agents, parabens, phthalates, or sulphates.
Dr. Gitto uses her extensive herbal knowledge to curate soaps based on skin type and individual need. She formulates skin care based on need and combining age old techniques with natural herbal remedies to reach the customers desired effect. Her knowledge coupled with the rich organic base oils we use, such as olive oil, coconut oil, hemp oil, essential oils, and skin loving additives like aloe, honey, oatmeal, and goats milk produces a product that is unmatched.
Commercial soaps often aren't actually "soap" which means they do not clean your body. This is why they are marketed as "body bars" or "beauty bars". According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), only a few soaps on the market are true soaps, while the majority of cleansers are synthetic detergent products
The cold process technique uses sodium hydroxide (a natural ingredient) that commercial products do not use because of the time and cost it involves, and soap just doesn't clean without this ingredient. Commercial soaps last longer and lather so well because they are made using detergents, you know, the same ones we use to clean our floors, counters, and bathtubs-EW! Commercial soaps contain chemicals and take out the glycerin, a natural by-product of the cold process technique, which is what makes our skin soft and subtle to sell in the more profitable lotions and creams.
We source all our ingredients from cruelty free and sustainable vendors

- Reduces the signs of aging: Olive oil is rich in antioxidants. These compounds can combat oxidative stress, which is associated with skin aging. They can also increase collagen in the skin.
- Helps cleanse the skin: Dissolves oily residue on the skin. Can be used to remove certain types of makeup—particularly waterproof products.
- Promotes wound healing: Olive oil has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which can aid in wound healing.

- Moisturizing: Palm oil is a rich source of vitamin E, which helps to nourish and hydrate the skin, leaving it soft and supple.
- Anti-Aging: Palm oil is a natural source of coenzyme Q10. Topically applied Q10 has been found to combat skin aging by replenishing diminished Q10 levels due to aging and UV radiation. Its antioxidant properties help promote healthier skin overall. Palm oil protects the skin from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals can accelerate the aging process, leading to wrinkles and fine lines.
